Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition from didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position through a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Support patient health by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics where permitted.
• Obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Engage in patient care by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and clarifying prescriptions with prescribers.
• Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• 1+ years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
• Ability to become immunization certified.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
