Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will participate in a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and quality assurance. This role focuses on developing clinical and technical skills, including drug utilization review (DUR), red flag detection, and adherence to professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide caring service to patients, including offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and soliciting medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where permitted by regulation.
• Support patient health through immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics, including educating patients and documenting information.
• Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your readiness increases.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Flexibility for scheduling, including nights and weekends, and the ability to travel to various store locations within the market.
