About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) to gain a thorough understanding of pharmacy operations at the store, district, and regional levels. This role supports the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly and accurately.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations through empathetic communication.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at every workstation.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as allowed by state regulation.
- Maintain pharmacy safety and compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
