About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role involves working as part of a team to ensure pharmacy workflows run safely and efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities across store, district, and regional operations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, providing caring service, and solving or escalating patient concerns.
- Follow company standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Maintain high self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies, to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess or be in the process of obtaining valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining prescription quantities and day supplies.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on active listening.

- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, with requirements for regular attendance including nights and weekends.
