About the role#
This paid internship program offers pharmacy students the opportunity to apply didactic learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in a culture of continuous improvement and patient-centered care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment, inventory management, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, providing compassionate care, and addressing patient needs over the phone or in person.
- Support immunizations and other health care services as allowed by law and supported by required training.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities with district leaders.
- Maintain high standards of safety and accuracy while operating at various pharmacy workstations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
