About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations and participate in a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation to assist Pharmacists and Technicians in managing patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing caring service, and resolving patient concerns.
- Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies, to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while performing tasks such as verifying prescription information and label accuracy.
- Perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and reaching or stooping to move inventory.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining required licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, active listening, and mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
