    About the role#

    As an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern I, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support pharmacy operations at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. This part-time position is designed for students early in their pharmacy education to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting.

    What you'll do#

    • Fill medication orders and deliver medications to patient care areas.
    • Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations.
    • Interview patients to gather medication histories.
    • Receive and interpret outpatient prescriptions and enter them into the pharmacy computer system.
    • Manage medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control.
    • Perform general clerical duties to maintain efficient pharmacy operations.
    • Work with management and pharmacy staff to promote a cooperative environment.

    What you'll need#

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Current enrollment in the 1st year of an accredited College of Pharmacy program.
    • Active Pharmacy Technician registration in Wisconsin.
    • Proficient computer skills.
    • Solid communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to lift 35 pounds and push a mobile cart weighing approximately 50 pounds.
    • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as data entry and medication preparation.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Grafton, Wisconsin.
    • Schedule: This position requires working every third weekend, two holidays per year, and one 4-hour evening shift every 1-2 weeks. Shifts are 10 hours in length.
    • Compensation: $25.00 per hour.
