About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply didactic learning from your pharmacy education into real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience with pharmacy operations. You will support the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately while developing the clinical and technical skills necessary for a future Pharmacist role.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient’s medical history under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stocks.
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, including potential travel to other store locations within the market.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
