About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy operations and patient care. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap that includes key learning experiences, activities, and collaboration with district leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment and workflow management.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic care and addressing patient needs.
- Deliver health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Follow company standard operating procedures to maintain safety, compliance, and patient privacy.
- Engage in continuous learning to build clinical and technical knowledge.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
