About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy operations and a comprehensive training roadmap. You will gain hands-on experience through key learning activities and time spent with district leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment and workflow management.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on key learning experiences.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support team members through effective communication and consistent application of best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong focus and attention to detail to ensure prescription accuracy and patient safety.
