About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap that provides an overview of pharmacy operations. You will work as part of a team to ensure patients receive safe, accurate, and prompt service.
What you'll do#
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and accurately fill prescriptions.
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing patient care and service.
- Follow company standard operating procedures to maintain patient safety and privacy.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities.
- Contribute to a high-performing team environment and embrace a growth mindset.
- Handle tasks such as inventory management, cycle counts, and prescription fulfillment at various workstations.
- Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, including taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment or acceptance in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Proficiency in mathematical reasoning to determine dosages and supply.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to remain mobile for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
