About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide a deep understanding of store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on building clinical and technical skills while preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs).
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment and workflow management.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law.
- Support the team by fielding medical questions, taking telephonic prescriptions, and managing inventory activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward, valid intern and/or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for patient and colleague interactions.
