As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning and pharmacy practice to real-world scenarios in preparation for a Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations while contributing to a high-performing team.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Learn to operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in customer interactions, including fielding medical questions and providing optimal care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and managing medication deliveries.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive team dynamic, remaining flexible to work shifts across the market as needed.
- Where permissible, support immunizations by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and administering vaccines following required training.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Ability to complete all required training within designated timeframes.
- Strong attention and focus with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and mathematical reasoning for prescription processing.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, with the capacity to lift up to 20 lbs.
