About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Manage inventory activities, such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away medication deliveries.
- Support immunization services by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions, where permitted by law.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and active listening abilities.
