About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice in preparation for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy operations while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing compassionate care, and solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns, as permitted by law.
- Support immunizations by completing required training and licensure, educating patients, and documenting information in compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain professional standards, including adhering to company standard operating procedures and protecting patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform tasks requiring close visual acuity and manual dexterity.
