Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position through a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Support pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, addressing medical questions, and offering immunizations where permitted.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles regarding patient privacy and controlled substance dispensing.
• Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
• Educate patients about vaccines, obtain informed consent, and document patient information as required.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the timeframe specified by state guidelines.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Commitment to regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing and reaching.
