About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role involves completing a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience with pharmacy operations, including store, district, and regional workflows. You will work as part of a team to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient prescription services while developing the skills necessary for a future Pharmacist role.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company standard operating procedures at every workstation to help manage patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, solving problems, and providing caring service.
- Complete inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, such as cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, as supported by required training and certification.
- Maintain focus and attention to detail while performing tasks like confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern and/or technician licensure is required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to maintain concentration on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to become immunization certified to support essential pharmacy functions.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and across multiple store locations within the market.
