Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and activities designed to provide an overview of pharmacy operations. You will support the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and caring service to patients.

What you'll do#

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all customer and colleague interactions.
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek feedback for improvement.
• Perform tasks such as inventory activities, taking telephonic prescriptions, and fielding medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Support patient health services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by training.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to concentrate on tasks over a period of time and pivot quickly to meet patient and business needs.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including availability to work nights and weekends.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to use mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
• Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

• Compensation: Paid internship with a pay range of $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
