About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition from didactic learning to real-world pharmacy practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position through a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to deepen your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Apply pharmacy school learning to daily operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workflows.
- Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, providing caring service, and resolving patient concerns.
- Support Pharmacists by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions where permitted by state regulation.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members while maintaining a growth mindset.
- Deliver health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required certification.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for prescription calculations and inventory management.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks such as typing and reaching.
