Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice. This program is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role by immersing you in store, district, and regional operations. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor to deepen your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Apply pharmacy school learning to daily operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Assist the pharmacy team in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, providing caring service, and solving patient problems.
• Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Manage inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
• Support clinical services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by training.
• Maintain communication with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to perform mathematical calculations for prescription dispensing.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
