As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards. You will work on-site to assist the pharmacy team in delivering prompt, accurate, and safe patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing personalized service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Educate patients about vaccines, answer questions, and obtain informed consent.
- Complete necessary training and licensure to obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while maintaining high self-awareness.
- Follow standard operating procedures to help manage patient health and support pharmacy workflow.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers where permitted by state regulation.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Ability to perform essential physical tasks, including remaining upright for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to solve problems in patient interactions.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends, and to travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
