About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Northwell Health, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. You will gain hands-on experience by performing clinical and administrative tasks within the pharmacy department in Mount Kisco.
What you'll do#
- Prepare medications for both inpatient orders and outpatient prescriptions, including typing labels.
- Help pharmacists prepare and label compounded sterile applications.
- Provide drug information to patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff members.
- Conduct inventory checks, replenish floor stock, and maintain control records for manufactured items.
- Inspect medication rooms, remove recalled or outdated drugs, and ensure unused medications are returned to the pharmacy.
- Verify drug shipment invoices and store products in their designated locations.
- Prepare reports for the pharmacist and handle other administrative duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A current permit to practice as a Pharmacy Intern in New York State.
- 0 to 1 years of relevant experience.
