About the role#
Trinity Health is hiring a Pharmacist Intern to join the team at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. This is a part-time, per diem role that offers the chance to gain clinical experience within a large medical center. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist with daily operations and patient care support.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support in the delivery of pharmaceutical care.
- Prepare and deliver medications and sterile products.
- Review patient charts for specific information and conduct audits.
- Manage the stocking and ordering of drugs and other pharmacy products.
- Perform technical tasks permitted by Iowa law for pharmacy interns.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a pharmacy school or program, or proof of a verbal commitment to one.
- Current registration as a pharmacy intern with the State of Iowa at the time of hire.
- If not yet an intern, you must be registered as a Technician in Training or a Certified Pharmacy Technician until intern status is obtained.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or the ability to obtain it within three months of hire.
- Completion of mandatory reporter training within three months of hire.
