About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, which includes Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and hands-on activities. This role focuses on developing your professional skills while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to build professional aptitude and operational knowledge.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drop-off, and drive-thru, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit information on medical histories under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset, remaining receptive to feedback, and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over time and pivot quickly between responsibilities to meet patient and business needs.
- Ability to perform essential physical functions, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and repetitive hand movements.
