About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and soliciting medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
- Deliver additional health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention and focus to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- A customer service orientation with a friendly approach to helping others.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
