About the role#
This is a part-time Pharmacy Intern I position at Aurora Medical Center West Allis. You will work under the general supervision of a pharmacist to support pharmacy operations and patient care. The role requires flexibility for AM and PM shifts, including weekends and holidays.
What you'll do#
- Fill and deliver medication orders.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations.
- Interview patients to obtain medication histories.
- Receive and interpret prescriptions for outpatients.
- Enter prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system.
- Manage medication ordering, receipt, stocking, and inventory control.
- Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
- Follow hospital standards to maintain a cooperative work environment.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current enrollment in the 1st year of an accredited College of Pharmacy program.
- Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician registration.
- Additional registrations or licenses including: NC, SC, GA intern registration; GA intern license; IL tech license; AL permit; SC certification.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Solid communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with management and pharmacy staff.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift 35 pounds, and push a mobile cart of approximately 50 pounds.
