Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program focuses on store, district, and regional operations, deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Support patient health by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and solving patient problems under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes where permitted.
• Perform inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and managing returns.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members while contributing to a safe and inclusive team environment.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform tasks requiring close visual acuity.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to pivot between tasks to meet patient needs.
