Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world pharmacy practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position by immersing you in store, district, and regional operations. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, focusing on patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Support immunizations by educating patients, answering questions to obtain informed consent, and administering vaccines once certified.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, solving patient problems, and offering counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and provide mentorship to pharmacy team members.
• Communicate effectively with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and facilitate medication changes where permitted by law.

What you'll need#

• Must be a PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state guidelines.
• Ability to complete all required training and certification programs within the designated timeframe.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including the ability to work nights and weekends.
• Ability to remain mobile and stand for extended periods, and lift up to 20 lbs.
