About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Kroger, you will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to support daily operations. This role focuses on patient care, medication accuracy, and maintaining a safe environment for customers. You will interact directly with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers to ensure prescriptions are filled and managed correctly.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Enter patient and prescription data into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense medications and bag filled prescriptions for delivery.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies when needed.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
- Maintain a clean and organized department.
- Report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
- Capacity to manage conflict in a professional and nonconfrontational manner.
