About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing an overview of store, district, and regional operations. You will support the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patient needs are met.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
