About the role#
This position offers pharmacy students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail setting. You will support pharmacy operations, assist with patient care initiatives, and help lead the pharmacy team under the guidance of a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
- Support workflow and pharmacist oversight by providing shift leadership, delegating station rotations, and resolving operational issues.
- Assist the pharmacist with all responsibilities that do not require professional pharmacist judgment.
- Provide daily training support for pharmacy associates and assist new technicians through the training program.
- Enter patient information accurately into the computer system and assist with Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient privacy.
- Act as a pharmacy safety subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Manage electronic fund transactions and follow guidelines for restricted sale items.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited pharmacy school program.
- Completion of national and/or state intern registration, certification, or licensure as required by the state.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current CPR certification.
- Certification in immunizations or the ability to become certified.
- Ability to perform all essential functions of a Pharmacy Certified Technician.
