PHARMACY/PHARMCST-INTERN

About the role#

This is a paid, full-time Pharmacy Intern position based on-site in Athens, Georgia. The role operates on a rolling term basis, providing students with hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store.
• Develop and maintain deep knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss effectively with customers and prescribers.
• Accurately dispense medications and provide drug counseling to patients.
• Manage prescription workflow, including inputting patient information, contacting prescribers for authorizations, and processing third-party insurance claims.
• Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Assist with inventory management, including checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused medication to stock.
• Maintain a clean, safe department and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
• Provide support to diverse customer groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to manage conflict in a cooperative, nonconfrontational manner.
• Commitment to acting with honesty and integrity regarding business and patient information.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
