About the role#
As a Pharmacy Grad Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to prepare for your own licensure. This role offers hands-on experience in community pharmacy practice. You will apply your academic knowledge in a patient-focused environment while developing the clinical, operational, and service skills required to become a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with the accurate dispensing of prescription medications.
- Provide customer service and answer patient questions about medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Counsel patients on wellness initiatives and medication use as state regulations allow.
- Manage prescription data entry, insurance claims, and medication preparation.
- Support clinical services such as immunization programs and medication therapy management.
- Help with inventory tasks like stocking, ordering, and removing expired medications.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of your first professional year of pharmacy study.
- A friendly, helpful attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of state laws and regulations regarding pharmacy practice.
- Preference is given to candidates with one year of community pharmacy experience or those who have been a pharmacy teammate for at least six months.
