About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern at Ingles Markets, you will work alongside experienced pharmacists to gain hands-on experience in community pharmacy. This role focuses on patient care, prescription processing, and pharmacy operations. You will build the skills needed for a career in the field while supporting store-level pharmacy personnel.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in providing patient-centered care.
- Process and prepare prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Help with immunizations and clinical services as permitted by state law.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Support inventory management and medication ordering.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team and store associates to deliver a positive experience for patients.
- Learn about pharmacy operations, workflow management, and regulatory compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy program.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of employment or eligibility for one.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work with attention to detail.
- A focus on helping patients improve their health.
