About the role#
Ingles Markets hires Pharmacy Interns to work alongside experienced pharmacists. This role provides hands-on experience in patient care, prescription processing, and pharmacy operations. You will build skills for a career in community pharmacy while completing your education. Many interns move into full-time Staff Pharmacist roles after graduation and licensure.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists in providing patient-centered care.
- Prepare and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Provide customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist with immunizations and clinical services as permitted by state law.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Support inventory management and medication ordering.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to deliver a positive experience.
- Learn pharmacy operations, workflow management, and regulatory compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license, or eligibility for licensure, in North Carolina.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with attention to detail.
- A desire to help patients improve their health.

- Location: Asheville, North Carolina.
- This is a paid, part-time, on-site position.
