About the role#
As a Pharmacy Graduate Intern, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience in patient care and pharmacy operations. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term based in Glens Falls, New York. You will assist with prescription preparation, inventory management, and patient counseling to ensure accurate and efficient service.
What you'll do#
- Prepare prescriptions and assist with inventory management.
- Take prescriptions over the phone from prescribers.
- Provide customer service, including prescription intake and telephone communication.
- Counsel patients and conduct Medication Therapy Management interventions, including outreach and billing.
- Make immunization recommendations based on state law and current schedules.
- Assist with immunization documentation and paperwork.
- Administer immunizations to adults if you have completed required certification and meet state and company requirements.
- Participate in corporate programs and initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Completion of the first professional year of pharmacy study.
- A state-licensed pharmacy intern permit where applicable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and provide superior customer service.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, insurance plans, and billing procedures.
- One year of experience in a community pharmacy is preferred.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy teammate for at least six months is preferred.
