About the role#
As a Pharmacy Grad Intern, you will gain practical experience by working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will assist with daily pharmacy operations, patient care, and business tasks to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency. This role is a paid, full-time position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with prescription preparation, intake, and inventory management.
- Counsel patients on medication use and answer questions regarding over-the-counter products and supplements.
- Take prescriptions over the phone from prescribers and resolve billing issues with insurance companies.
- Perform Medication Therapy Management interventions, including patient outreach and documentation.
- Stay up to date on ACIP immunization schedules and assist with counseling, paperwork, and documentation.
- Administer immunizations to adults under direct supervision if you meet state and company requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations.
What you'll need#
- Successful completion of the first professional year of pharmacy study.
- A state-licensed pharmacy intern permit where applicable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to exercise good judgment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A friendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer service.
- Knowledge of state pharmacy laws, regulations, and common insurance billing procedures.
- One year of previous experience in a community pharmacy is preferred.
- Prior experience as a pharmacy teammate for at least 6 months is preferred.
