Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

Kroger is seeking a Pharmacy Intern for a full-time summer 2026 position in Salem, Oregon. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while supporting department goals and maintaining quality assurance standards.

What you'll do#

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
• Provide drug counseling to customers.
• Dispense the correct medication accurately.
• Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Process third-party insurance information and contact insurance companies when necessary.
• Accept and interpret oral and written prescriptions for fill or refill.
• Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
• Maintain a clean and safe department environment.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
