About the role#
Kroger is seeking a Pharmacy Intern for a full-time position during the Summer 2026 term. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while supporting pharmacy operations and maintaining quality assurance standards.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
- Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of pharmaceutical products to discuss them competently with customers and prescribers.
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information, dispense medications, and facilitate prescription fills and refills.
- Process third-party insurance information and contact prescribers for authorization.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean department and manage incoming inventory.
- Ensure safety by reporting risks, accidents, or incidents to management and the pharmacist on duty.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
