JayC Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

The JayC Pharmacy Intern position is a full-time, paid summer internship opportunity for students pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This role provides hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting, focusing on patient care, prescription processing, and operational support under the guidance of licensed pharmacists.

What you'll do#

• Create a welcoming environment by answering customer questions regarding products throughout the store.
• Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
• Dispense medications and assist with prescription fills and refills.
• Contact prescribers’ offices for necessary authorizations.
• Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
• Offer drug counseling and over-the-counter medication recommendations to customers.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including checking incoming orders and stocking shelves.
• Process third-party insurance information and assist customers with billing inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department while adhering to company safety and legal standards.

What you'll need#

• Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
• A current, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding all customer and business information.
• Ability to provide drug counseling and support to diverse customer populations.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a professional environment.
