About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while completing your pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to process prescriptions and assist with daily pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and attach labels to containers.
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Handle inventory tasks such as ordering, stocking, and checking invoices.
- Assist with monthly inventory and follow security and regulatory procedures.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Protect customer privacy by maintaining the confidentiality of medical information.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees and work as a team member.
- Help in other areas of the store when needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations.
- Ability to handle confidential patient and financial information with discretion.
