About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern at Hy-Vee, you will support our pharmacy operations in Ankeny, Iowa. This role provides hands-on experience in a retail setting while you complete your pharmacy education. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to assist with daily tasks and patient service.
What you'll do#
- Fill and process prescriptions while following state and federal regulations.
- Prepare prescription containers and affix labels.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering stock and checking invoices.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Follow all security, regulatory, and Quality Assurance procedures.
- Assist with other store tasks and special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of related work experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently.
- Comfort with repetitive motions, standing, and reaching in a retail environment.
