About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in providing essential care and service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient safety while helping the department meet its operational goals. This role requires a commitment to customer service and adherence to company values like honesty, integrity, and safety.
What you'll do#
- Provide drug counseling and answer questions about over-the-counter and prescription medications.
- Assist customers and prescribers with product inquiries.
- Input patient information into the pharmacy system and process insurance claims.
- Dispense medications accurately and facilitate prescription refills.
- Administer immunizations under pharmacist supervision.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and manage incoming orders.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized pharmacy department.
- Report safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management immediately.
- Support customers of all ages and needs with patience and respect.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid, state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skills to manage conflict in a calm and professional manner.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity regarding patient data.
- Ability to follow instructions and seek help when needed.
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
