About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to deliver patient care and support pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage inventory tasks including ordering, stocking, and entering data.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts.
- Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and the dispensing area.
- Protect customer privacy and medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Assist in other areas of the store and complete special projects as assigned.
- Help train other pharmacy employees.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Preference for candidates with six months or less of similar work experience.
- Ability to perform arithmetic, algebraic, and geometric calculations accurately.
- Skills to compose correspondence and evaluate technical data.
