About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward a pharmacy degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to help deliver patient care, manage inventory, and maintain pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors to the appropriate personnel.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, checking invoices, and entering data.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts.
- Follow security and regulatory procedures, including Quality Assurance Programs.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Protect the confidentiality of customer medical information and prescription pricing in accordance with HIPAA.
- Collaborate with team members to follow standard operating procedures and facility policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and report to work on time.
- Assist in other areas of the store or take on special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.

- This role is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid.
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
