About the role#
Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. In this role, you will fill prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assist with inventory and quality assurance, and help deliver patient care.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
- Fill and process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to containers.
- Report any medication errors.
- Assist with inventory control, including ordering, stocking, checking invoices, and entering inventory information.
- Assist with monthly inventory and follow security and regulatory procedures, including Quality Assurance Programs.
- Assist in training pharmacy employees.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area.
- Maintain the confidentiality of customers' private medical information and prescription drug pricing.
- Work with co-workers to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects.
- Adhere to all company policies and store guidelines.
- Report to work on time.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Registered with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience is preferred.
