About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will support our pharmacy team in delivering quality care and service to our customers. You will work under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure accurate medication dispensing and patient support. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and helpful environment while assisting the department in meeting its operational goals.
What you'll do#
- Create a welcoming experience for customers by answering questions and providing helpful service.
- Accurately input patient and prescription data into the pharmacy system.
- Interpret oral and written prescriptions for new fills and refills.
- Provide drug counseling and offer recommendations for over-the-counter medications.
- Administer immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Communicate with prescribers and insurance companies to resolve authorization or coverage issues.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by checking, stocking, and organizing incoming orders.
- Maintain department cleanliness and follow all safety and quality assurance standards.
- Support team members and report any safety risks, accidents, or incidents to management.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a United States school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Skill in managing conflict in a nonconfrontational manner.
- Commitment to honesty and integrity when handling customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek help when needed.
- Comfort providing support to diverse groups, including minors, older adults, and individuals with special needs.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
