About the role#
Kroger is hiring a Pharmacy Intern in Wichita, Kansas. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. You will support the pharmacy team by providing direct customer service, managing pharmacy operations, and assisting with clinical tasks under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
- Provide drug counseling to customers and assist with over-the-counter medication recommendations.
- Input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Dispense the correct medication and handle prescription refills.
- Provide immunizations under the supervision of the pharmacist.
- Manage administrative tasks such as contacting prescribers for authorization, processing insurance information, and stocking medication.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pharmacy environment.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A current state-issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a busy environment.
- Capacity to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
