About the role#
This is a part-time, per diem Pharmacy Intern position at Mount Sinai Hospital. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacy supervisor or staff pharmacist to support daily pharmacy operations and patient care.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medication.
- Mix pharmaceutical preparations, fill bottles with prescribed tablets and capsules, and prepare labels.
- Fill medication orders for individual patients under direct supervision.
- Prepare intravenous (IV) medications using sterile techniques.
- Receive, store, and organize incoming pharmacy supplies.
- Maintain inventory records by counting stock and entering data into the computer system.
- Inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
- Clean and maintain pharmacy equipment and supplies.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited (ACPE) College of Pharmacy, having completed at least three years of the program.
- A valid Pharmacy Intern Permit.
- Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
