About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. Working under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations at the store, district, and regional levels. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills as you prepare for a future career as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist patients by fielding medical questions, soliciting medical history, and offering counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify orders as needed.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Manage basic inventory tasks, including putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Deliver patient care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, while educating patients on the importance of vaccines and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Travel to various stores within the market to work shifts as required by business needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market is preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.

- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid and follows a rolling term.
