About the role#
As a Retail Pharmacy Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in a pharmacy setting while working toward your degree. You will work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist to support patient care, manage inventory, and ensure the pharmacy runs efficiently. This is a part-time position.
What you'll do#
- Provide friendly service to customers.
- Process and fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Prepare medication containers and affix labels.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with monthly counts.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing areas.
- Protect customer privacy and handle confidential medical information according to HIPAA standards.
- Report any medication errors immediately.
- Follow security protocols and Quality Assurance Programs.
- Assist with training pharmacy staff and support other store areas as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and report to work on time.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active registration with the State Pharmacy Board as an intern.
- Up to six months of related work experience is preferred.
- Ability to perform accurate arithmetic and algebraic calculations.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare providers.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during your shift.
