About the role#
As a Pharmacist Intern at Kroger, you will work directly with customers and the pharmacy team to provide essential health services. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals while maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role focuses on delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the pharmacy runs efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Create a positive customer experience by greeting people and answering questions about products.
- Dispense the correct medication and provide drug counseling to customers.
- Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy computer system.
- Provide immunizations under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Assist with over the counter medication recommendations.
- Contact prescribers for authorization and communicate with insurance companies as needed.
- Accept and interpret oral or written prescriptions for refills.
- Notify management immediately if any customer or employee accidents occur.
- Manage inventory by checking incoming orders, stocking shelves, and returning unused stock.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a US school of pharmacy.
- A valid state issued Pharmacy Intern license.
- Ability to work cooperatively and manage conflict in a professional manner.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty and integrity regarding customer and business data.
- Ability to provide support to diverse groups, including older adults and individuals with special needs.
