About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Accounting II internship based at our corporate office in West Des Moines, Iowa. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from mid-May through mid-August 2027. The role involves working alongside senior accounting staff to support our financial reporting processes.
What you'll do#
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain a detailed trial balance.
- Calculate and balance accruals.
- Assist with the month end close process, including preparing journal entries and analytical reports.
- Collect and analyze data to respond to financial inquiries.
- Make recommendations to improve accounting and control procedures.
- Perform project analysis and ad-hoc research as assigned.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of relevant college education.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in accounting.
- A basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, including Microsoft Office programs.
